Resource Groups
The list subtab of the Resource Groups page contains a list of all the Resource Groups in PM3time, and which persons have been assigned to them. To add a new Resource group, click the Add Resource Group icon in the tool ribbon, and type the name of the new resource group in the newly added item to the list.
Membership
The Membership subtab allows you to assign persons to Resource Groups. To do so, click the Add
Member icon in the tool ribbon, and in the newly created row in the table, select the Person the Resource Group will be assigned to, and the Resource Group itself, along with start and end date of this person’s membership to the resource group. Clicking save will increment the count of people assigned to the resource group that is visible on the List subtab.
Additionally, the radio buttons can be toggled to choose your preferred view of the Resource Group Memberships.
Default Rates
The Admin > Default Rates subtab contains a list of all Resource Groups together with the rates that each Group is to be charged at and the time slot for which that rate applies. There are two rates to populate:
- Internal Rates – for costs incurred by staff or suppliers to your organisation.
- External Rates – for earnings obtained by charging Clients or other organisations.
To add a new default rate for a Resource Group, click the Add Rate icon in the tool ribbon, and in the newly created line, select the Resource Group the rate will be set against, choose the date range for the rate (this cannot overlap any other date range currently set for that Resource Group) and enter the Internal and External Hourly Rate (these can be left as 0).
Once a resource group is assigned to a person, these values can be overridden for that person by selecting the person in Admin > Persons, and going to the Rates subtab. The Supplier Rate field on the Person> Rates subtab relates to the Internal Rate Hourly and the Client Rate field relates to the External Rate Hourly.
It is the project-specific rates which are used to generate the reports and invoices which contain both information on time spent, and the calculation of internal costs and external charging.
