The Business Priority Matrix plots each plan contained in the portfolio in a 3x3 matrix of Exposure against Plan Value. The Exposure and Plan Value components are based on the tabs of that name in each plan (Note that the names of these tabs could have been customized an admin). In these tabs, plans are scored as a proportion of the maximum possible score and placed on a scale of 0-10.
- The table can be viewed in priority order (as at present) or in plan hierarchy (Work breakdown structure – WBS).
- When you exclude/include a Programme or BCP, it also immediately excludes/includes all child plans. But you can manually override this for individual child plans if you want.
- You can show just the bubble chart or just the table or both. Showing just the table is useful for viewing the effect on totals at right when excluding/including plans.
The Matrix can be customized with the following options:
- Contrast: Changes the contrast of the Bronze, Silver and Gold colour on the matrix to be more/less visible.
- Bubble Size: Changes the size of each plan bubble on the Matrix. Standard shows all the bubbles at the same size, and the Capex, Revex and Total values show the bubbles at the proportional to each plan’s Capex, Revex or Totals values respectively.
- Bubble Colour: Sets the colour of the bubbles to be the workflow status colour, or the colour determined by the plan’s discretionary value.
