Portfolio Access Levels

There is a basic discrimination between System Access Levels and Portfolio Access Levels. The former controls at a general level whether or not a user can read or update any information in the database; the latter controls whether or not a user can read or update a specific Portfolio. The default user access to Portfolios is No Access. Note that Portfolio Access functionality is only available if the system has been configured to hide inaccessible Portfolio/Plan names.

A user of PM3 is either unlicensed or has a Creator license or a Viewer license. Licensed users are added to the system by PM3 Administrators. Unlicensed users are added to the system by PM3 Administrators or by Creators (in the Team Page of the Plans to which they have update access).

Unlicensed users cannot login to PM3 but can be referred to as participants in Plans.

The Owners of Portfolios (or, in exceptional circumstances, PM3 Administrators) can give Viewers at most Read Only access to their Portfolios using Add Portfolio Access Permissions.

The Owners of Portfolios (or, in exceptional circumstances, PM3 Administrators) can give Creators Read Only access to their Portfolios.
