Gantt Integration with Resources
New "Gantt" Column on the Resources Page
-
A new optional column called "Gantt" is available on the Resources page, and it appears in each month.
-
This column lets you compare Gantt table data with:
-
Manually entered data in the Resources page
-
Data imported from Pm3time
-
Showing or Hiding the Gantt Column
-
To show or hide the Gantt column, use the column selector:
-
Right-click on the table header
-
-
The column is automatically populated — no setup is required on your part.
Import Gantt Controls
-
On the Resources page, click the new "Import Gantt" icon to access integration controls.
-
These controls let you copy data from the Gantt column to one of the following Allocation columns:
-
Budget
-
Forecast1, Forecast2, Forecast3
-
Actual
-
Copying Options
When copying data from the Gantt column, you can choose one of two behaviors:
-
Clear
-
Clears all cells in the target Allocation column before copying Gantt data.
-
-
Keep
-
Only overwrites cells where Gantt data exists.
-
Other cells remain unchanged.
-
Manual vs. Auto Import Modes
You can choose how and when the copy operation occurs:
-
Manual
-
Data is copied only when you click the Import button.
-
Useful to avoid performance issues if many resources are present.
-
-
Auto
-
Data is copied automatically:
-
When the page is refreshed
-
When you return to the Resources page after editing the Gantt page
-
-
One-Way Sync from Gantt to Resources
-
Changes in the Gantt page (e.g., task dates or resources) can affect the Resources page.
-
But changes made on the Resources page do not affect the Gantt page.
Import Scope
-
Importing Gantt data affects the entire plan, not just the visible time window.
-
This is because the Gantt chart doesn't use a time window.
Gantt Column Visibility Not Required
-
You don’t need to display the Gantt column to perform the import.
-
However, in early usage, it may be helpful to show the Gantt column to:
-
Check calculations
-
Validate data without affecting the actual allocation columns
-
