Gantt Chart

The Gantt Chart page under the Delivery Plan tab allows you to enter and change a Gantt Chart for your Plan.

The left-hand side of the page shows a table of all Summary tasks, Milestones and Tasks added to date whilst the righthand side shows Summary task as ‘blue-bar with ends’, Milestones as ‘diamonds’ and Tasks as bars with any.

Dependencies in which they are involved shown as arrows. The ‘ends’ of Summary task bar are derived from ‘start date’ and ‘end date’ of underneath rows if any otherwise plan start and end dates. The colour of the Milestone diamond and Task bar corresponds to the Delivery Status of that Milestone or Task.

Right-clicking on the headings allows you to select columns to view/hide; your selection is then remembered as your preference. Text size can be increased or decreased by clicking the ‘+ A’ or ‘- A’ buttons. Row height in panes can be increased or decreased by clicking ‘Zoom’ icons. Summary rows can be expanded/collapsed by clicking ‘Expand/Collapse All’ for all summary tasks or at individual level by clicking on ‘+/-‘ icon in leftmost column of left pane. Expand/collapse is not available if rows are filtered or not in default sort order.

Summary tasks, Milestones and Tasks may be dragged up-down in left pane. Milestones and Tasks may be dragged updown, left-right in right pane. Tasks can be extended or shortened by toggling and dragging their right or left edge (respectively).

The granularity of the Gantt Chart can be changed by selecting ‘Days’, ‘Weeks’ or ‘Months’ from the Timescale dropdown. If resource planning and tracking is to be performed at the Task level then ‘Resource Driven’ can be checked to add a lower pane in which data can be entered. Use the Budgets/Actuals dropdown to determine which data you wish to enter/review.

NB: If columns have been selected and are not visible you may need to drag the graphic part of the Gantt chart to the right.
