Add an Action

To add an action to a plan, select the plan and click the actions tab.

Once you're in the Actions tab, click this button to get the following Add Action pop up.


Fill in the details for the action and click save to create a new action for the plan. The Description field is a mandatory field and will need to be filled out before clicking Save.

PM3 will automatically create actions as a result of mitigation actions being awarded in the risk register. Actions will also be automatically created by PM3 from Resolution/ Mitigation action from the issue register. Actions will also be created for overdue milestones. Action types are defined by the Administrator and cannot be modified by the user.

  • Actions not related to the plan can also be added.
  • Sub-actions can be added by selecting the action and then clicking add ‘sub-action’.
  • Actions can also be added at the Home Screen.
  • To filter actions, click the ‘Show/Hide Advanced Filters’.
  • You cannot link Milestones to Actions manually, the actions are created automatically when a Milestone is late.
