Global Portfolios

A few portfolios are Global:

1. Organisation’s Root Portfolio
2. Archive Portfolio
3. Selected Sites Portfolio – used for deploying plan templates across multiple sites in the Retail option.

A plan directly in a Global portfolio is visible to all partitions. So this provides another way to share plans between partitions:

1. Add the plan to a Global portfolio (temporarily)
2. Switch partition
3. Add the plan to a portfolio in your new partition
4. Remove the plan from the Global portfolio

This option is not recommended for plans which are in secure partitions, simply because the plan will be globally visible for a short period.
